Yesterdays Outreach activity was a great success and it has made me remember why we have this program. Thanks to Tyler Westrope (City of Billings), Holli Krizek (WAPA), Stephanie Seymanski (Morrison Maierle), Tim Macke (HDR), Karen Schneider (HDR), and Erik Smith (HDR) for helping out. Also, thank you to their companies for allowing them the time to help with this great activity.

I wanted to inform everyone that the Billings Engineering Outreach will be participating in the Billings Clinic Science Expo. It will take place on Saturday, March 27th. This is a perfect opportunity to volunteer for an activity when you can never seem to get out of work to help. There are usually over 200 students who make their way through the Science Expo. There will be two shifts of volunteers. The first shift will be from 9:00-12:00 am and will include setup from 9 to 10. The second shift will be from 12:00 to 3:00 and will include tear down from 2:00 to 3:00. We will need four volunteers for each shift. Please let me know if you can help.

The 45th Annual Billings Engineers Club scholarship and awards banquet will be held on Friday, March 5th, this year at the Hilton Garden Inn. Attached is the invitation letter and signup sheet for your company. The tickets are again priced at $40.00 per person. Please note that we are holding the banquet at a different venue this year. If you, or your company, are interested in donating to the scholarship program, or helping pay for a recipients' meal please make note of it on the signup sheet. As always, we appreciate all of your support with the scholarship program. It is very rewarding to be able to recognize the young talent in our community.

Good Afternoon,

The next Billings Engineers Club lunch meeting is Friday, February 26, 2010 at noon at the Holiday Inn Grand. Clayton Zerbe from Morrison-Maierle will be speaking. Clayton recently participated in Phase I of a four-part project called Ethiopia Hope to build a security wall around a school and will be have speaking about this experience. The goals of the Ethiopia Hope project are to improve conditions at a K-8th grade public school located in the poorest section of Addis Ababa and to provide self-sufficiency and a source of food for the school through agricultural improvements.

Cost of lunch is $12. Please RSVP to me by Wednesday, February 24th at noon if you would like to attend. Also, don't forget to sign up for the annual banquet which is coming up on Friday, March 5th. I have also attached an email from Jared Harris regarding the Outreach program. He is looking for volunteers for two upcoming events. Jared would also like to step down as chair of the Outreach program. If you have an interest in heading up this very worthwhile program, please contact either me or Jared. Have a great weekend!
